Shifts in collective behavior have multiple, profound effects on society and businesses.  Clarifying these shifts is key to reducing complexity and capturing opportunities.  Every year, we explore specific aspects of changes in collective behavior that are influential in brand construction, marketing engagement, research methods, and organizational development.

Millennials

Millennial behavior, the hinge between what has been our focus since 2013. This behavior is contagious and geographically unbound. We developed four hypotheses to explain how Millennials are changing the very fabric of our society and culture. The result is a comprehensive look at how to communicate with this group in the marketing and human resources contexts.

Transculturalism

Very few cultural currents have the capacity to transform our society as much as transculturalism: a phenomenon that occurs when two cultures enter in contact.  Big changes occur and resistance to those changes arise. Brands and companies operate at the heart of this transformation.  Understanding these forces is vital to maintain our offers viable, relevant and safe from the counter currents that transculturalism itself generates.

Legacy Power

At LopezMora, we define Legacy Power as an effort made by the new generation to retrieve meaningful objects and stories from another era and to drive them forcefully into their own future. Brands and companies’ attempts to capitalize on their Legacy Power abound. However, many of them fail primarily because of the prevalent tendency to confuse Legacy with nostalgia. We have been exploring the causes, consequences, and opportunities of this new phenomenon for a while and believe that, when properly used, Legacies can propel brands and products into incredible heights.
